Qi Gong Meditation Relaxation is a mobile-based app intended to improve users’ physical health and reduce stress. The app teaches Qi Gong – gentle movement combined with breathing – through audios, videos, and articles. Qi Gong is a basic form of Tai Chi intended to enable practicing users to experience the health benefits of Tai Chi without undergoing the years of training. The meditation audios are based on methods from Buddhist psychology, and the developers suggest that daily Qi Gong meditation can help users to manage stress, symptoms of depression and anxiety, physical ailments and pain, and insomnia. The video links provided by the app are intended to tutor the user in Qi Gong meditation. Additional features include articles on meditation, relaxation, stress management, cognitive behavioral principles, and Qi Gong; mindfulness training audios; and relaxation audios (some with only narration, and some with narration and musical background), with a special selection for children to teach them how to breathe, relax, and calm their bodies.
